Letter to the President: Leverage Private Funds

Dear President Obama:

You have not leveraged the private sector enough. You keep doing just the government side when you could be playing Whack-A-Mole with the Republicans if you had an equally strong private sector program. Let me give you an example.

Those 40 millionaires that said they wanted to be taxed - if the tax cuts go through, how can you use them to your advantage? Maybe they could build facilities that would be extremely useful to the nation, places like free clinics and rehab facilities; places that would fill in the gap until the health care law kicked in and gave judges the option to sentence drug addicts to rehab rather than jail. Even better is that when the Republicans crow about how the private sector and tax cuts made this possible, you can ask how these things never happened under their watch, why they never reached out to the poor, built more charity hospitals etc. Why is it that when Republicans get tax breaks nothing good ever happens?

Sincerely,
Michael
